"Moments Of Swing" is a fun collection of original songs presented in the styles of Jazz, Latin, and Swing. Each of the ten songs is largely based on the chord charts of well-known jazz standards from composers such as George Gershwin, Miles Davis, Cole Porter, and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Creating new melodies for existing charts is a composition technique often used by jazz musicians. This technique offers students of this book the opportunity to improve their skills at improvising to chord charts of well-known standards. At the same time, they will be exposed to fresh, original material. In addition to 10 great songs, "Moments Of Swing" includes a CD. The CD contains recordings of each song: first as a solo with accompaniment, then as just the accompaniment so the student can play along. The accompaniments are recorded by a jazz combo and they sound really great!
